Την ώρα που οι ενδείξεις για προσπάθεια αναβολής της Τουρκικής αξιολόγησης ολοένα και εντείνονται, αλλά και τη στιγμή που Γαλλία και Γερμανία παρουσιάζονται ιδιαίτερα επικριτικές απέναντι στην Άγκυρα μέσα από δηλώσεις κορυφαίων αξιωματούχων, που σχετίζονται και με την Κύπρο, δεν γίνεται κατανοητή η σκοπιμότητα που μας οδήγησε στο να σπεύσουμε έξι ολόκληρους μήνες πριν και να δώσουμε πράσινο φως στην Τουρκία, χωρίς μάλιστα κανένα αντάλλαγμα.

Θα ανέμενε κάποιος από τις κυβερνήσεις Κύπρου και Ελλάδας να προχωρούσαν σε συνεννόηση με τις χώρες που δηλώνουν ανησυχία για την πορεία της Τουρκίας και ιδιαίτερα τον Γαλλογερμανικό άξονα, προτού εκφράσουν δημοσίως τις προθέσεις τους. Η χθεσινή προαγγελία θυμίζει δυστυχώς τον τρόπο που χειριστήκαμε το ίδιο θέμα το 2005, παρά τις δημόσιες τοποθετήσεις του τότε Γάλλου πρωθυπουργού κ. Ντε Βιλπέν ότι θα ήταν αδιανόητη η έναρξη διαπραγματεύσεων με την Τουρκία προτού αυτή αναγνωρίσει όλα τα κράτη μέλη της Ε.Ε., οπόταν και αναγκάστηκαν Γάλλοι αξιωματούχοι να μας πουν ότι δεν μπορούν να εμφανίζονται Κυπριώτεροι των Κυπρίων”.
